From International to Local Patriot
My name is Narcis George Matache, and I wasn’t born in Denmark, but I chose to build my life here. I came to Aalborg with a suitcase full of dreams, a Romanian accent, and a firm belief that democracy only works if everyone is included.
In 2021, I became the first non-Danish citizen elected to the Regional Council of North Denmark. It was a historic moment, not just for me, but for the thousands of internationals who call this country home.
Now I’m running for Aalborg City Council to make sure our city works for all of us.
Belonging in Denmark
“I live here, but I don’t feel like I belong.”
I’ve heard this sentence too many times to ignore it. If we want a strong and united Aalborg, we can’t afford to leave people behind.
Belonging isn’t a privilege. It’s a right.
That’s why I’m running, to build a city where everyone feels at home.
