Why I’m Running for Aalborg City Council

Aalborg is growing. It's young, international, full of potential, but not everyone feels included in that story. I’m running because I believe this city can be more welcoming, more fair, and more connected.

We don’t need more walls between “newcomers” and “locals.” We need bridges. We don’t need empty talk about integration. We need real representation and real action.

My vision is simple: a city where everyone feels at home, and has a voice.

7 Priorities for a More Inclusive Aalborg

1. Belonging & Representation
Let’s make space for internationals in local decision-making, boards, and cultural life. If you live here, your voice matters, and should be heard.
2. Social Connection & Mental Health
Isolation is a silent problem. I’ll push for more community spaces, support networks, and public mental health services that reflect the needs of diverse residents.
3. Language Access & Cultural Inclusion
City services, events, and institutions should be open to everyone, not just fluent Danish speakers. I’ll fight for more translation, language-friendly policies, and cultural accessibility.
4. Support for International Families & Spouses
We must stop ignoring the skilled, motivated people who follow their partners here. I’ll work to connect spouses with job paths, entrepreneurship support, and community roles.
5. Fair Access to the Job Market
Hiring practices need to be fair, not filtered through accents or names. I’ll promote bias-free recruitment, mentorship programs, and transparent public sector hiring.
6. Participation in Local Democracy
Voting is only the start. I’ll champion civic education, inclusive information campaigns, and more efforts to help internationals feel part of local political life.
7. Upskilling for Low-Skilled Workers
Let’s break the survival-job cycle. I’ll push for better access to education, training, and career growth opportunities for those stuck at the bottom of the ladder.
